Standing in solidarity against racism, xenophobia and islamophobia

A message sent to members and frontline workers, at 08:30 on Wednesday 7th August 2024

Dear colleagues,

Over the last week we have been horrified and heartbroken by the targeted attacks on Muslims, racialised communities, migrants and refugees. Nobody should be intimidated and harassed in their homes and communities – these actions are unacceptable and there is no justification for this behaviour.

We know that many of you – and the people you support – will have been affected by these events. We stand in solidarity with you – against racism, xenophobia, islamophobia and any other forms of discrimination. We are sending our best wishes and we hope you are finding kindness and support from colleagues and friends.

HOPE not Hate and a number of expert organisations working with asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, have produced a guide about staying safe during far-right violence. You can download the guide here.
